In an interview with IQNA, Alireza Rashidian also referred to a recent trip he made to Saudi Arabia and said issues related to Umrah were discussed during the visit.

Given that the Umrah pilgrimage season is halfway through and 120,000 Iranians have already performed the Umrah pilgrimage, the trip to Saudi Arabia was made to investigate the process of performing Umrah and the conditions of Iranian pilgrims, he stated.

Issues such as the activities of Iran’s medical center in Medina were examined during this trip and “we were able to resolve the problem. Iran’s first clinic was opened in Medina, and it has been decided to open two more clinics in the holy city,” he added.

Rashidian also said there are no obstacles in holding religious ceremonies, including the recitation of the Kumail Supplication and educational programs, in the Land of Revelation.

“The Saudi government has good cooperation with the Iranian Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization,” he emphasized.

Regarding the problems faced by Iranian pilgrims visiting the Rawda Al Sharifa in the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, he noted that the Saudi government has designed a mechanism for visiting the holy place, and pilgrims needs to book in advance via the Nusuk app to visit the revered site.

“In this regard, discussions were held with Saudi Hajj officials so that our pilgrims could visit the Rawda Al Sharifa in groups using their visas, but of course we have not yet reached a conclusion. We hope that with the conclusion of the negotiations, our pilgrims will be able to fully benefit from their Umrah pilgrimage.”
